Public evidence assessedReviewed August 31, 2026

Bottom line

qXR has meaningful independent evidence for selected uses, particularly tuberculosis screening, alongside broader developer and regulatory materials. Evidence for one finding or older version should not be generalized to the full current product without qualification.

Based on public sources. RIR did not independently test this product. This is not an endorsement or recommendation.

What the evidence supports

Reviewed sources establish a marketed chest X-ray AI suite with defined regulated modules in the United States.

What remains uncertain

The exact module, indications, thresholds, and evidence applicable to any local deployment require version-specific confirmation.

How it was studied

qXR has been evaluated retrospectively for chest findings and in independent tuberculosis-screening datasets. One multisite study compared qXR version 2 with other systems using radiologists and Xpert MTB/RIF as reference standards in Nepal and Cameroon.

Intended use
Support review of chest radiographs with findings, localization, triage, and reporting assistance where authorized.
Represented version
qXR product family; authorized indications vary by market and module
Regulatory context
The qXR family includes FDA-cleared modules, but the full global qXR feature set should not be treated as one uniform clearance.

Evidence source base

A mixture of independent published studies, regulatory records, and developer documentation. Each intended use needs its own evidence chain.

Important limitation

Performance for tuberculosis or selected findings does not establish performance for every qXR output, care setting, population, or current software version.

Questions to ask

  1. 01Which qXR modules are enabled locally?
  2. 02What is the performance for each reported finding?
  3. 03How are normal-case flags audited?
